The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo tours HDPE and ROPP plants of Krisoral and Company Limited.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has applauded the entrepreneurial capabilities of the management and staff of Krisoral and Company Limited, a member, Krisoral Group of Companies, that has kept them in business, despite the economic recession in the country . The vice president, while on tour of ultra-modern factories owned by Krisoral and Company Limited, Thursday, in continuation of his industrial tour of Anambra State, applauded the sheer enterprise that is going on at the Harbour Industrial Estate, Onitsha.

He explained that he was in Onitsha on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, to see how the industries are performing and promised that the Federal Government, would support entrepreneurs in Nigeria, to continue to help Government in creating employment for the people, especially the youths. In his words, “Let me say how pleased I am to be here to see the sheer enterprise that is going on in this place, the business acumen, the entrepreneurial skills that we have seen, has become very clear that this is truly the hot-bed of industrialization in Nigeria and I am very pleased to see all of these.

“I am here on the instruction of Mr. President to see for myself first hand, the types of industries that are going on locally and of course we have chosen to come here first, because this is one of the most active places in the country, by local industries. “In whatever way we can assist, we will and we are already speaking to Governor Willie Obiano, who has laid out so many things he expects us to do and hopefully, we will be able to them.

“You could also notice that I came along with the Minister of Labour and productivity, Chris Ngige, because job creation is so important to this administration, to ensure that we create jobs and opportunities for our people. “So, I am excited to be here and I want to thank you for a very warm welcome. I have seen a lot and I will be reporting back to Mr. President and whatever we can do to support the Harbour Industrial Estate in Onitsha and other industrial estates in the country, we will do”.

Governor Willie Obiano, who was also impressed with activities at Krisoral and Company Limited affirmed that the company would continue to grow to provide employment for the people of Anambra State. Chris Oranu Chidume, Group Managing Director, Krisoral Group of Companies, while guiding the vice president and his entourage on tour of the Roll-On-Pilfer-Proof (ROPP) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) closures factories, explained that the firm has scaled up the capacity of its plants, from 2 billion caps per annum to 4 billion caps per annum; an increase of 100 percent.

The Krisoral Group chairman also explained that Krisoral and Company Limited, produces ROPP caps of different dimensions, High Density Polyethylene caps, which comes in carbonated or non-carbonated forms; printed or plain of different colours and in the sizes of 28mm, 30mm and 41.5mm. The company also produces drug dispensing cups and PVC Shrink Labels. “It is the first indigenous company in Nigeria, to have full process of ROPP cap and the only company today that has top and side embossments technology, a development he said many people are not aware of. The Factories directly employs about 120 staff and indirectly employs over 800 persons”

He also explained that the capacities of the two plants as at 2012 were about 2 billion caps per annum, which has now been upgraded to about 4 billion caps per annum, stressing that a lot of expansion has occurred between 2012, the year they were commissioned by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and now, 2016. This capacity according to him is enough to relieve companies in Nigeria, especially Pharmaceutical and Beverage companies, of the rigors and stress of importing the same closures from abroad.

Oranu observed that many people may not know that such a facility exists locally and may still be importing, he complained that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is strangulating their businesses by not giving them funds to import, in other words, paying more for less. He then called on end User Companies to utilize this opportunity to add value to their business, as what they are looking for overseas are here at their doorstep.

On quality, he said that the products are of high quality as it goes through compressed technology. “Nothing can change the quality of the products, because of the precision of the technology. The precision guarantees smoothness, is dirt less and provides consistency in dimension. It is a technology that says put your raw materials and go and sleep”. The vice president was accompanied on the tour of the factories by His Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Willie Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra State and Chief (Dr.) Chris Ngige, the Honorable Minister of Labour and Productivity. .
